Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, includes weekends; self-scheduling 4 weeks at a time

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to post-op, sepsis, pneumonia, COPD, diabetes, and infection patients
Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms for patients floating to telemetry units
Perform foley catheter insertions and central line dressing changes with strict sterile technique
Titrate heparin drips as ordered and manage patient responses
Collaborate with resource RNs and charge nurses to maintain safe patient ratios of 1:4-5
Participate in SIMs lab training and demonstrate competency in lifts, restraints, and wound care

Qualifications

Must have Level 1 Trauma experience with recent med/surg background
BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
Dysrhythmia exam must be passed prior to contract start
No first-time travelers - at least one previous travel assignment preferred
Must have reliable vehicle and valid driver's license
Natural hair color, no facial piercings, and clean-shaven for fit test (male applicants)

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in med/surg and telemetry nursing skills
Experience with foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
Ability to maintain sterile field during procedures
Knowledge of heparin titration and cardiac monitoring
Charge nurse experience a plus
Comfortable floating to other med/surg/tele units
