Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care for med/surg patients
• Assess and monitor patient condition, recognizing and acting on changes quickly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Document patient care and clinical observations clearly in the medical record
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the care team to coordinate treatment plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, care plans, and discharge instructions
• Respond effectively to emergencies and help maintain a safe clinical environment

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Alabama or ability to obtain an Alabama RN license
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or may be required depending on unit needs
• Previous med/surg nursing experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of medical-surgical nursing principles and patient care practices
• Proficiency with IV therapy, medication administration, and patient monitoring
• Comfortable using electronic health records for charting and communication
• Strong critical thinking, time management, and multitasking abilities
• A patient-first attitude and the ability to work well within an interdisciplinary team
