Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality Med/Surg and Neuro Stroke nursing care to assigned patients
• Assess, monitor and document patient condition and respond to changes promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately following protocols
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic health record documentation
• Support unit workflow and help mentor teammates when needed to ensure excellent outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or compact RN licensure applicable to practice
• Experience working in Med/Surg and Neuro Stroke settings (unit: 3/2 UMC Neuro Stroke)
• Comfortable working 12-hour day shifts including weekends
• Strong clinical assessment and patient safety focus

Knowledge & Skills

• Med/Surg nursing fundamentals and best practices
• Neuro stroke patient care and monitoring
• Patient assessment, vital signs and early recognition of change in condition
• Medication administration and safe documentation practices
• Team communication and care coordination in a fast-paced hospital setting
