Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered care on the medical-surgical unit with compassion and clinical skill
• Perform thorough assessments, monitor patients, and respond to changes in condition promptly
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document care in the patient record
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care
• Maintain safety, infection control, and unit standards while contributing to a positive work environment

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license — ability to hold or obtain licensure in Hawaii
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS or other certifications as applicable/preferred
• Prior experience in medical-surgical nursing or demonstrable competency in med-surg skill set
• Strong clinical judgment, patient assessment, and medication administration skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities; professionalism and compassion

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of med-surg patient care, common diagnoses, and treatment plans
• Proficiency with patient assessment, IV therapy, wound care, and medication administration
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation and charting best practices
• Critical thinking, time management, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced unit
• Effective patient/family education and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
