Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg unit with competence and compassion
• Assess and monitor patient condition, report changes promptly, and implement appropriate interventions
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document care in the electronic health record
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and interdisciplinary team members to support coordinated care plans
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, procedures and discharge plans to promote recovery and self-care
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
• Maintain professional standards, regulatory compliance and infection control practices

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Clinical experience in Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications a plus
• Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med/Surg patient care principles and protocols
• Medication administration and IV therapy competency
• Proficiency with electronic health records and documentation
• Patient assessment, wound care and post-operative care skills
• Ability to multitask, triage and escalate concerns appropriately
