Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality direct patient care on the medical-surgical unit
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document appropriately
• Monitor and document patient status, recognizing and escalating changes promptly
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, and discharge planning
• Participate in unit orientation, quality improvement, and unit-based initiatives

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (New Hampshire licensure or compact RN where applicable)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS) preferred where applicable
• Clinical experience or training in medical-surgical nursing; orientation provided for those new to the unit
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and time management skills
• Ability to pass required background checks and pre-employment screenings

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and clinical documentation
• Safe medication administration and IV therapy familiarity
• Knowledge of infection control and patient safety practices
• Proficiency with electronic health record documentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to prioritize care in a fast-paced environment
