Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Medical-Surgical unit
Assess patient status, identify changes, and implement appropriate interventions
Administer medications and treatments safely and document responses
Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care plans
Provide education and discharge planning support to patients and families
Accurately document care in the patient chart and maintain regulatory compliance
Respond promptly to patient emergencies and escalate concerns as needed
Support unit workflow, assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid for practice in Louisiana
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS) preferred or unit-dependent
Medical-Surgical nursing experience preferred
Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
Medication administration and IV therapy competence
Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
Time management, organization, and attention to detail
