Registered Nurse - Med Surg/Ortho
Location: Kearney, Nebraska
Start Date: 07-06-2026
End Date: 10-05-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM, every other weekend
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $62 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate care to patients undergoing total knee, hip, ankle, and shoulder replacements, as well as spinal surgeries
- Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and manage pain through IV drips and blood transfusions
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including charge nurses and patient care techs to ensure optimal outcomes
- Educate patients and families on recovery plans and post-discharge care
- Float to MedSurg, rehab, or PCU as needed to support team coverage
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
- Current BLS certification (required)
- Driver's license required at submission for radius verification
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med Surg or Ortho experience preferred
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Experience with total joint replacements and spinal surgeries
- Ability to titrate pain medications, antibiotics, and blood products
- Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts and every other weekend
