Registered Nurse - Med Surg ICU
Location: Omaha, NE
Start Date: 07-06-2026
End Date: 10-26-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM, rotating weekends and holidays as needed
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Med Surg ICU, managing complex conditions including respiratory failure, sepsis, stroke, and post-surgical cases
- Titrate vasoactive medications and manage advanced hemodynamic monitoring (e.g., Swan-Ganz, EV-1000)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including fellows and residents to deliver high-quality patient care
- Interpret telemetry strips and respond to changes in patient status
- Float to all inpatient units except Maternity/NICU as needed
- Participate in rapid response and code situations when serving as charge nurse
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
- Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Valid driver's license for verification of distance from facility (50-mile radius rule applies)
- Willingness to float to all inpatient units except Maternity/NICU
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in managing ventilators, CRRT, and hemodynamic monitoring
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to titrate drips and interpret telemetry
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
