Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, every other weekend (Days, no call required)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $68 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide attentive postpartum and couplet care for mother-baby dyads, maintaining safe patient ratios
- Perform continuous fetal and maternal monitoring using Fetal Link and respond to changes promptly
- Document care accurately and efficiently in Cerner EMR to ensure continuity and quality
- Collaborate with OB attendings, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and ancillary teams available 24/7
- Float to NICU and Pediatrics as needed to care for feeders and growers and low-acuity pediatric patients
- Serve as charge nurse when assigned, balancing leadership duties with direct patient care as required
- Educate patients and families on postpartum care, discharge planning, and newborn safety
- Adapt to unit workflows and partner with permanent staff to support a positive unit culture
Qualifications
- Active RN license (must be eligible to submit) required
- Minimum 4 years of postpartum nursing experience required
- Certifications required: BLS, NRP, and PALS
- Experience with Cerner EMR and Fetal Link strongly preferred
- Comfortable providing couplet care and working 1:4 postpartum ratios
- Travel nursing experience preferred and perm staff are receptive to travelers
- Ability to float to NICU/Pediatrics and perform basic pediatric care
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
Education
- Active RN license required. BSN is not required.
Knowledge & Skills
- In-depth knowledge of postpartum mother-baby care and common diagnoses (hypertensive disorders, diabetes, substance use, multiples)
- Fetal monitoring and electronic fetal monitoring systems (Fetal Link)
- Couplet care principles and newborn transition/feeding support
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR and clinical documentation best practices
- Familiarity with telemetry equipment (Nihon Kohden) and working with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to manage variable census with support from nurse aides and OB techs
- Patient education, discharge planning, and family-centered care
