Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM, self-scheduling, rotating weekends (Friday-Sunday) and holidays

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $76 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive care to pregnant women and newborns in a rural LDRP unit
Perform obstetric triage and patient assessments
Function as the primary baby catcher and transition nurse during deliveries
Administer and titrate Pitocin as ordered
Collaborate with charge nurse, on-call OB, and pediatric providers
Maintain patient ratios per AWHONN guidelines and ensure safe outcomes

Qualifications

At least 1 year of L&D nursing experience required
Must be trained and proficient in LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)
Ability to triage obstetric patients and act as baby catcher/transition nurse
Current ALS, NRP, and AWHONN EFM certifications (or ability to obtain before start)
Comfortable working in a rural hospital with on-call providers

Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of L&D nursing and LDRP care
Proficiency in obstetric triage and fetal monitoring (OBIX system)
Skill in newborn transition assessments and resuscitation
Ability to administer and titrate intravenous Pitocin
Understanding of AWHONN staffing guidelines
Effective communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary team
