Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate labor and delivery nursing care for patients and families
• Support patient choice and promote vaginal birth opportunities tailored to individual preferences
• Perform continuous fetal monitoring and intervene appropriately for maternal or fetal concerns
• Assist and circulate in the OR for obstetric procedures and support IUPC and FSE use when indicated
• Manage obstetric emergencies including postpartum hemorrhage using unit protocols and tools
• Document thoroughly and accurately in CPN and Meditech to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate closely with midwives, CRNAs, obstetricians and the level 2 NICU team for high-risk deliveries

Qualifications

• Current RN license (state of practice or compact license as applicable)
• Minimum 2 years clinical experience (per job posting)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP and fetal monitoring
• Experience with Labor & Delivery procedures (IUPC, FSE, circulating in OR) preferred
• Comfortable administering and monitoring MgSO4 and using JADA system for hemorrhage management
• Documentation experience with CPN and Meditech is a plus
• Willingness to work a rotating schedule including weekends

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and labor management skills
• Proficiency in continuous fetal monitoring and interpretation
• Knowledge of obstetric emergency protocols and postpartum hemorrhage management
• Familiarity with couplet care and promoting breastfeeding practices
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a laborist team model (midwives, CRNA, OB on call)
• Comfort with unit equipment and documentation systems (CPN, Meditech)
• Experience supporting patient-centered birth planning and shared decision-making
