Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert labor and postpartum care for LDRP patients
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret tracings to guide care
• Place and calibrate IUPC devices accurately and safely
• Circulate for C-sections and assist with sterile vaginal exams
• Manage IV therapy, phlebotomy and maintain central lines (CVC/PICC)
• Administer and manage high-acuity therapies (insulin drips, magnesium sulfate, anticoagulation, antihypertensives)
• Triage obstetrical patients and prioritize care in a busy unit
• Document thoroughly in Epic to ensure continuity and quality of care
• Precept and mentor colleagues when called upon to support team growth

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant Labor & Delivery and postpartum experience
• Travel nursing experience required; seasoned travelers preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP
• AWHONN Advanced preferred
• Comfort with 1:3 patient ratios on days and nights
• Pending licenses are not accepted; active, valid RN licensure required at time of submission
• Strong precepting experience is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Labor & Delivery management and postpartum care
• Fetal monitoring and interpretation
• IUPC placement and calibration
• Circulating for C-section and sterile vaginal exams
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line (CVC/PICC) maintenance

• Antepartum care, triage of obstetrical patients, and high-risk antepartum experience
• Charting and documentation in Epic
