Shift Type: 12.5-hour shifts (Labor & Delivery), specific start/end times and days to be confirmed by the facility

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care for laboring patients and newborns
- Monitor maternal and fetal status using appropriate assessment tools
- Collaborate closely with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and the neonatal team to ensure safe deliveries
- Educate and support patients and families through labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record
- Respond promptly to emergencies and participate in unit-based quality and safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN credential (registered nurse) — solid foundation in maternal-newborn care
- Hands-on experience or strong interest in Labor & Delivery nursing
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; NRP and ACLS encouraged or preferred
- Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to prioritize in fast-paced situations
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a patient-centered approach
Knowledge & Skills
- Fetal monitoring and interpretation (electronic fetal monitoring)
- Labor support techniques and intrapartum nursing practices
- Newborn assessment and initial stabilization
- IV therapy, medication administration, and emergency response
- Comfortable with electronic medical record charting and thorough documentation
- Ability to teach and coach patients and families through the childbirth experience
