Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients.
• Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition with urgency and skill.
• Administer medications, manage ventilators, IV lines, and advanced monitoring devices.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to develop and execute care plans.
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in the electronic health record.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and recovery expectations.
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California (or eligible to obtain).
• ICU or critical care experience preferred; demonstrated comfort with high-acuity patients.
• BLS required; ACLS and other critical care certifications preferred or willing to obtain.
• Strong clinical judgment, the ability to prioritize under pressure, and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work overnight 12-hour shifts and collaborate with a fast-paced team.

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) per facility requirements.

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and familiarity with mechanical ventilation settings.
• Hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive medications.
• Advanced assessment skills for acute changes in cardiorespiratory status.
• Proficient charting/documentation in common EHR systems.
• Teamwork, critical thinking, and effective bedside communication.
