Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care nursing to adult ICU patients with compassion and clinical precision
• Perform thorough assessments and monitor hemodynamic and respiratory status continuously
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists to develop and execute patient care plans
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely, following evidence-based protocols
• Operate and manage advanced life support equipment, including ventilators and monitoring devices
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care
• Respond to emergencies with calm, skilled interventions and effective communication

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or eligible for licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) strongly preferred
• Experience or clinical comfort in critical care/ICU settings
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Current immunizations and any facility-required health screenings

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care knowledge including ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Proficiency in medication administration and titration for ICU therapies
• Excellent clinical assessment and prioritization skills
• Effective communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation practices
• Ability to remain composed and decisive during high-acuity events
