Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients with compassion and clinical excellence
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
• Manage ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, and other advanced critical care equipment
• Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and support codes as needed
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Document accurately and timely in the electronic health record to ensure continuity of care
• Mentor and support colleagues to help build a strong, resilient ICU team

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or compact RN license
• ICU or critical care nursing experience required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred or required per facility policy
• Comfort with ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring and critical care protocols
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work calmly under pressure

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing principles and best practices
• Mechanical ventilation and ventilator weaning strategies
• Cardiac monitoring and interpretation of hemodynamic data
• Medication administration in the ICU, including vasoactive drips
• Electronic health record documentation and charting
• Team communication, delegation and patient/family education
