Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in a 19-bed mixed ICU, focusing on neuro, medical, trauma, vascular and cardiothoracic patients
Manage and monitor EBD drains and neuro-specific interventions with precision and attention to detail
Float as needed between ICU and PMCU (step-down unit with a 3:1 ratio) to ensure seamless patient transitions
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
Perform thorough assessments, recognize clinical changes early, and escalate care appropriately
Document care accurately in Epic and support charting standards to maintain continuity and quality

Qualifications

Current CA RN license (required)
At least 2 years of RN experience
Recent Epic experience within the last year (required to pass the Epic pre-assessment)
Neuro experience with demonstrated competency in managing EBD drains
ICU experience and comfort working with a mix of neuro, trauma, vascular and CT patients
Willingness to float between ICU and PMCU; TNCC preferred for trauma experience

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency with Epic and timely, accurate electronic documentation
Strong neurocritical care knowledge and drain management skills
Critical thinking and rapid assessment in high-acuity settings
Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced ICU environment and work as part of a care team
Familiarity with step-down/PMCU workflows and 3:1 patient ratios
Trauma awareness and vascular/CT patient care knowledge
