Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population in a fast-paced Level I Trauma Center
• Assess, triage, and treat patients with acute conditions including trauma, sepsis, chest pain, and stroke
• Collaborate with physicians, mid-levels, and interdisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips, administer common drips, and manage ICU/trauma patients as needed
• Float to OBS unit and freestanding ER to support staffing needs
• Participate in orientation and pass open-book exam on skills with 90% or higher

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications (NRP preferred)
• Recent Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience required
• Valid driver's license (required for submittal to verify distance)
• Ability to pass an open-book skills exam during orientation
• Commitment to patient safety and adherence to fingernail policy (no artificial nails in patient care areas)

• Expertise in emergency nursing and trauma care
• Proficient in reading and interpreting telemetry strips
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and multitasking abilities
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to thrive in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
