Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics
• Perform rapid assessments, triage, and prioritize care in a high-volume Level III Trauma Center
• Manage critical patients including trauma, STEMI, strokes, and medical emergencies
• Assist with central line placement, chest tubes, MTP, and rapid transfusions
• Administer and monitor common drips such as Diltiazem, Cardene, Nitro, and sedation medications
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, mid-levels, and techs in a shared governance environment

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room experience in a facility with similar volume and trauma level
• Must be comfortable with high-acuity skills: central lines, MTP, chest tubes, trauma, STEMI, strokes
• Ability to pass Advanced Dysrhythmia exam (83% or higher) before contract start
• Experience with PulseCheck or Picis EMR preferred
• Willingness to float between Bryan and College Station campuses (16 minutes apart)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of emergency nursing protocols and trauma care
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Excellent critical thinking and prioritization skills in fast-paced environment
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities
• Adaptability to changing patient acuity and census
