Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care for trauma, stroke, and acute medical patients
• Perform rapid triage and focused assessments to prioritize care in a high-volume ED
• Deliver advanced life support and emergency interventions in accordance with ACLS/BLS/PALS protocols
• Operate and manage clinical equipment such as Baxter infusion pumps and GE monitors with confidence
• Document care accurately and efficiently in Cerner to support continuity and compliance
• Coach and give real-time feedback to colleagues to promote teamwork and continuous improvement
• Maintain excellent patient experience through AIDET communication and timely updates throughout the visit
• Adapt to changing patient volumes and staffing needs while upholding safe patient-to-nurse ratios

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the applicable state (or compact license where accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting
• 2 years’ experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, and/or high-volume ED (>100,000 visits) as requested
• Required certifications before starting: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS; ENPC to be completed within 90 days of hire
• Comfortable floating within all sections of the ED and working a team-centered model
• Strong teamwork, communication, and coaching skills with the ability to provide constructive feedback

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing best practices, trauma care, and stroke assessment
• Proficiency with ACLS/BLS/PALS and NIHSS stroke scoring
• Experience with TNCC and ENPC principles
• Cerner documentation and electronic charting workflows
• Clinical equipment familiarity: Baxter pumps and GE monitors
• Triage, cardiac monitoring, and high-volume ED flow management
• Patient experience practices (AIDET) and compassionate communication
