Roles & Responsibilities

Triage and assess patients on arrival, making rapid, clinically sound decisions
Initiate and manage emergency interventions and treatments
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately and promptly
Monitor and reassess patients, adjusting care plans as clinical needs change
Provide compassionate education and support to patients and families during stressful moments
Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives to enhance ED outcomes

Qualifications

Current, active Registered Nurse license (ability to hold or obtain Kentucky RN license preferred)
Emergency Department experience preferred; confident in fast-paced acute care settings
Basic Life Support (BLS) required, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to prioritize under pressure
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) accepted; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of emergency nursing assessment and treatment protocols
Familiarity with triage processes and rapid patient stabilization
Proficiency with electronic medical records and timely documentation
Ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients safely
Calm, decisive problem-solving and effective communication in emergencies
