Contract Type: Contract
Shift Type: Various 12-hour shifts: Days 7:00 AM-7:30 PM or 9:00 AM-9:30 PM, Mids 10:00 AM-10:30 PM/11:00 AM-11:30 PM/1:00 PM-1:30 AM/3:00 PM-3:30 AM, Nights 7:00 PM-7:30 AM; weekend rotation required (4 shifts per 4-week schedule)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $76 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to diverse patient populations in a fast-paced 18-bed ED
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including physicians, midlevels, and ED techs for optimal patient outcomes
- Triage and assess patients, prioritizing care based on acuity levels
- Administer medications, perform procedures, and manage ventilated patients with confidence
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Cerner EMR
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure patient safety at all times
Qualifications
- Active California RN license in good standing
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience strongly preferred
- Experience with Cerner EMR and Phillips telemetry systems
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts and maintain a rotating weekend schedule
- Must be able to float between two campuses (6.5 miles apart) with 2-hour notice
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills to handle high-acuity patients
- Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to manage a high patient volume of 85-115 patients per day
- Proficiency in ventilator management and telemetry monitoring
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic emergency department environment
