Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in the emergency setting
- Provide skilled nursing care for acute and urgent conditions
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans
- Administer medications and treatments safely and document care in the patient record
- Perform procedures and support stabilization efforts during high-acuity situations
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families during stressful moments
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Current RN licensure in New Hampshire or compact RN licensure
- Active BLS certification; ACLS strongly preferred
- Previous ED/ER clinical experience or strong emergency care training
- Excellent critical thinking, prioritization and acute care skills
- Current basic life support skills and ability to function well in fast-paced settings
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency triage and rapid assessment
- Acute care nursing skills including IV starts and medication administration
- Ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients simultaneously
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making under pressure
- Effective communication with patients, families and the care team
- Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
