Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care in the Emergency Department
• Perform rapid assessment and triage of patients presenting with acute conditions
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per physician orders
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create and execute patient care plans
• Monitor and document patient status, responses to treatment, and escalate concerns promptly
• Support safe patient transitions and timely disposition from the ED
• Participate in continuous quality improvement and unit-based initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (eligible for New Hampshire licensure if not currently licensed)
• Prior Emergency Department (ED/ER) experience preferred
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS highly desirable
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and adapt to varying patient volumes

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent (pre-licensure education requirements met)

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment skills
• Acute care and rapid intervention techniques
• IV therapy, medication administration and dosage calculations
• Familiarity with common ED equipment and monitoring
• Documentation best practices and clinical charting
• Ability to manage multiple critically ill patients and prioritize care
