Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages with urgency and compassion
• Triage and rapidly assess presenting conditions to prioritize care and ensure patient safety
• Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions according to protocols
• Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practitioners, and the ED team to coordinate patient care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely
• Maintain a calm, organized environment during high-acuity situations and critical incidents
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions with clarity and empathy

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license — Alabama license or active Compact RN preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS and PALS strongly preferred or willing to obtain
• Prior Emergency Department (ED/ER) experience preferred — ability to thrive in fast-paced settings
• Strong clinical assessment, IV/med administration, and triage skills
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking abilities

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment expertise
• Cardiac monitoring and EKG interpretation basics
• IV insertion, medication administration, and trauma care fundamentals
• Ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients and prioritize effectively
• Clear, compassionate patient and family communication
• Comfortable using electronic medical records and documenting clinically
