Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform rapid, high-quality patient assessments and prioritize care in the emergency setting
• Deliver evidence-based nursing interventions for acute and emergent conditions
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient flow and disposition
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families during stressful moments
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the medical record
• Monitor and manage critical patients, including initiating appropriate emergency protocols
• Support triage processes and assist in efficient throughput of the ED

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Louisiana (or compact licensure that meets state requirements)
• Experience in Emergency Department (ED/ER) nursing preferred
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred or obtainable
• Comfortable working 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced emergency environment
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills
• Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams

Education

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency triage and rapid assessment techniques
• Acute care nursing principles and emergency interventions
• Familiarity with EHR documentation and clinical workflows
• Basic cardiac monitoring and ECG interpretation skills
• Ability to perform under pressure with sound clinical judgment
• Patient- and family-centered communication
