Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to patients held in the ED awaiting inpatient beds, focusing on cardiac telemetry monitoring
• Titrate cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone according to physician orders and parameters
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with the ED team by assisting with vitals, IV starts, and medication administration when needed
• Float to med/surg/tele overflow units and both Chandler Regional and Mercy Gilbert campuses as census requires
• Document thoroughly and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient transitions

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Arizona or compact state
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent cardiac telemetry experience within the last 6 months
• Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam through RELIAS within 48 hours of offer (2 attempts max)
• Comfortable completing a pass/fail SIM lab on day one of orientation
• Strong cardiac drip management skills and telemetry strip interpretation

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Safe titration of cardiac medications including Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone
• Patient assessment and quick response to changes in condition
• Floating between multiple campuses and unit types with a positive attitude
• Clear communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment
