Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality intermediate cardiac and stepdown patient care with confidence
• Titrate and manage critical drips including amiodarone, nitro, nicardipine, epinephrine, and cardizem
• Interpret telemetry and ECG strips and act on findings promptly
• Collaborate with cardiology, hospitalists, and intensivists to coordinate care
• Chart accurately and efficiently in EPIC to maintain clear patient records
• Troubleshoot respiratory equipment such as BiPAP and CPAP when needed
• Support the thoracic, EP, cath lab, and structural heart programs with skilled bedside care
• Serve as a reliable team member who floats as needed and supports unit staffing

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted RN license (able to practice in Nebraska)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required at submittal
• Valid driver’s license required at time of submission to confirm radius eligibility
• Minimum 1 year of experience caring for cardiac/stepdown or downgraded CVICU patients
• Comfortable titrating vasoactive and antiarrhythmic drips
• Experience with EPIC charting strongly preferred
• Ability to pass a skills pass/fail orientation exam (90% required) and adhere to unit policies

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry interpretation and ECG/strip reading skills
• Drip titration and hemodynamic medication management
• BiPAP/CPAP troubleshooting and basic respiratory support knowledge
• Familiarity with cath lab, EP, and structural heart patient care
• Management of CHF and A-fib with RVR
• IV medication administration and infusion safety
• Experience functioning with remote telemetry/monitor tech workflows
• Charge nurse experience is a plus
