Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct, high-quality patient care to medical/surgical and critically ill patients from admission through discharge
Manage advanced monitoring and operate complex equipment including ventilators, A-lines, central lines, chest tubes, and multiple IV pumps
Assess patients, implement established policies and procedures with minimal supervision, and escalate concerns appropriately
Serve as a clinical leader on the unit, giving direction to RNs, LPNs, CNAs and ancillary staff
Assist with precepting and mentoring staff to support clinical development and safe patient care
Coordinate discharge planning and collaborate with providers, charge nurses, supervisors, and the chief nursing officer

Qualifications

Current Montana RN licensure required
BLS and ACLS required
PALS, EPNC, TNCC preferred
Practice experience in an advanced medical/surgical unit with recent critical care nursing experience required
Demonstrated ability to precept and provide clinical leadership

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (RN)

Knowledge & Skills

Advanced nursing principles and procedures
Ventilator support and management of patients requiring ventilation
A-line and central line management
Chest tube management
Operation and troubleshooting of multiple IV pumps
Comfort with advanced medical equipment and invasive lines
Strong assessment, delegation, and communication skills
