Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate patient care as the designated Charge Nurse in a fast-paced ICU float pool
• Titrate critical drips including pressors, sedatives, and antiarrhythmics with confidence
• Manage ventilator settings and support respiratory needs alongside RT
• Respond to codes and rapid responses throughout the hospital
• Float seamlessly across multiple ICU units within the designated zone (OrthoColorado, Longmont United, St. Anthony, and St. Anthony North)
• Interpret telemetry strips and monitor cardiac rhythms independently
• Mentor and support staff, ensuring a collaborative team environment
• Adapt to different patient populations including MICU, SICU, TICU, and CVICU

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required; 3+ years for first-time travelers
• Prior Charge Nurse experience is a must
• Active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications
• Comfortable titrating all critical drips (pressors, sedation, paralytics, etc.)
• Experience with ventilator management and high-flow oxygen devices
• Epic experience preferred, especially for first-time travelers
• Willingness to float within a 60-mile zone (Denver region)

Knowledge & Skills

• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC certifications
• Proficient in titrating vasoactive and sedative drips
• Ventilator management and troubleshooting
• Telemetry interpretation without monitor tech support
• Charge nurse leadership and delegation skills
• Adaptability to float across multiple ICU types
