Shift Type: Rotating day shifts: combinations of 8-, 10- and 12-hour shifts (commonly 2x10hr + 2x8hr; sometimes 3x8hr + 1x12hr). Typical shift times include 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM and 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Schedule posted 17 days in advance in 6-week blocks. Includes 1-2 weeknight on-call shifts per week, every third weekend on-call (Fri into Mon), 20-minute call response time.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the cardiac cath lab, including pre-, intra- and post-procedure nursing
• Administer and mix moderate sedation medications safely and confidently
• Perform circulating and charting duties in EPIC to keep patient records accurate and timely
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (physicians, rad techs, RCIS) to coordinate efficient case flow
• Assist with device procedures and support advanced interventions like Impella, IABP, IVUS and FFR
• Cover Heart and Vascular pre/post areas when needed and float between units per department needs
• Respond to on-call activations within the required 20-minute response window

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (state requirements apply)
• Certifications required: BLS and ACLS
• Radiation badge must be supplied and in hand prior to start
• Comfortable and experienced with medication preparation/mixing for moderate sedation
• Cath lab experience including circulating and pre/post procedure care
• Able to work a rotating schedule and participate in on-call and weekend rotations
• Strong teamwork skills and willingness to assist across the unit

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in EPIC charting and documentation
• Experience with Philips Xper (Hemo) and Siemens C-Arm imaging systems
• Familiarity with cardiac support devices: IABP, Impella, temporary pacemakers
• Knowledge of interventional tools and imaging: IVUS, FFR, Rotapro and Laser/Shockwave systems
• Skilled in cardioversion and transesophageal echo (TEE) support
• Ability to function in fast-paced emergent revascularization and diagnostic/interventional procedures
