Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered behavioral health nursing care
• Assess and monitor patients' psychiatric and medical status and document findings
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans
• Implement crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when needed
• Educate patients and families about treatment goals, coping strategies, and discharge planning
• Participate actively in orientation and unit-based training to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in New Hampshire or compact RN license recommended
• Clinical experience in behavioral health or psychiatric nursing preferred
• Current BLS certification required; additional certifications in psychiatric/mental health nursing a plus
• Proven ability in crisis intervention, de-escalation, and therapeutic communication
• Strong documentation skills and comfort with electronic health record systems
• Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team and adapt to unit needs

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Behavioral health assessment and intervention
• Medication administration and monitoring
• Crisis management and safety planning
• Therapeutic communication and patient advocacy
• Familiarity with EMR charting best practices
• Team collaboration and interdisciplinary care coordination
