Roles & Responsibilities

Assess behavioral health patients and develop individualized care plans
Administer medications safely and monitor therapeutic response
Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation using best practices
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
Document patient status, interventions, and progress accurately in the chart
Educate patients and families about treatment plans and coping strategies
Advocate for patient needs and support transitions of care

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse license (RN) — New Hampshire licensure preferred
Experience or interest in behavioral health nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications a plus
Strong clinical assessment and crisis intervention skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to work 12.5-hour shift structure and adapt to varied patient needs

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Patient assessment and psychiatric nursing principles
Medication administration and monitoring for behavioral health agents
Crisis de-escalation techniques and safety planning
Clinical documentation and electronic medical record usage
Interdisciplinary collaboration and care coordination
Compassionate patient-centered care and therapeutic communication
