Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough nutrition assessments and develop individualized nutrition care plans for adult inpatients
• Write and manage enteral and parenteral nutrition orders, including TPN, with clinical accuracy
• Document care in Epic in a timely and compliant manner to support safe handoffs and continuity
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, Respiratory, Pharmacy, Social Work) to optimize patient outcomes
• Provide nutrition-focused physical exams (NFPE) and ongoing reassessments to track progress
• Manage fluid/electrolyte needs, tube feedings, and therapeutic diet orders for complex patients
• Float between Sacred Heart Medical Center and Holy Family Hospital as needed, providing consistent inpatient coverage
• Educate patients, families, and staff on nutrition interventions, aspiration safety and medication-nutrition interactions

Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian credential (RD or RDN) required
• WA DOH-CD license required or ability to obtain WA licensure
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient adult Registered Dietitian experience; inpatient experience within the past 6 months is a hard requirement
• Proficiency with Epic charting required
• Demonstrated experience writing enteral and parenteral (TPN) nutrition orders
• Comfort floating between hospitals and working with adult and geriatric populations
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively across disciplines

Education

• Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential required

• Parenteral nutrition (TPN) order writing and monitoring
• Nutrition assessments and Nutrition Focused Physical Exam (NFPE)
• Therapeutic diet orders and intake/output monitoring
• Fluid and electrolyte management
• Diabetes management and blood glucose/A1C interpretation
• Dialysis/CRRT nutrition considerations
• Wound care nutrition and managing malabsorption syndromes
• Medication-nutrition interactions and aspiration safety
• Clinical lab monitoring and interpretation (electrolytes, lipid panel, acid/base)
