Location: Sacramento, CA

Start Date: 05-05-2026

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Schedule varies, 5-hour shifts (orientation required). Exact days/times will be provided during scheduling; multiple slots available.

Candidate Pay Rate: $66 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess patients' nutritional needs and develop individualized nutrition care plans
Implement therapeutic nutrition interventions and monitor patient progress
Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and families about nutrition and care plans
Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the health record
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and nutrition program development

Qualifications

Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential required
Eligible for or holding California dietitian licensure is preferred
Strong clinical nutrition background with ability to assess and manage complex cases
Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across disciplines
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain

Education

Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field from an accredited program (ACEND preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

Clinical nutrition assessment and care planning
Experience with therapeutic diets and enteral/parenteral nutrition concepts
Comfortable using electronic health records for documentation
Strong interpersonal skills for patient and family education
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patient needs efficiently
