Physical Therapist - Acute Inpatient
Location: Bakersfield, California
Start Date: 06-02-2026
End Date: 09-01-2026
Contract Type: Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM shifts, one weekend every third weekend with Monday and Friday off
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional physical therapy care to 12+ patients daily across medical-surgical, ICU, and ER units
- Develop personalized treatment plans for diverse patient populations including post-surgical, neurological, and general medical cases
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and recovery journeys
- Document patient progress and adjust interventions to maximize functional independence
- Mentor and guide patients through their rehabilitation journey with compassion and expertise
Qualifications
- Current California Physical Therapist license required
- BLS certification required
- Acute Inpatient PT experience required
- Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in treating general medical and deconditioned patients
- Experience with total knee and hip arthroplasty rehabilitation
- Knowledge of spinal surgery recovery protocols
- Competency in stroke rehabilitation and neurological conditions
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced acute care settings
