Physical Therapist - Acute Inpatient
Location: Bakersfield, California
Start Date: 06-02-2026
End Date: 09-01-2026
Contract Type: Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM shifts, one weekend every third weekend with Monday and Friday off
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional physical therapy care to 12+ patients daily across acute inpatient units
- Evaluate and treat diverse patient populations including post-surgical, stroke, and general medical cases
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER settings
- Develop individualized treatment plans that promote recovery and independence
- Document patient progress and communicate effectively with healthcare colleagues
Qualifications
- Active California PT license required
- BLS certification required
- Acute Inpatient PT experience strongly preferred
- Comfortable working independently with support from one rehab aide
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical skills in acute care physical therapy
- Ability to manage varied diagnoses from TKA/THA to CVA and spinal surgery
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Adaptability to cover multiple hospital units as needed
