Roles & Responsibilities

• Navigate patient care from diagnosis through treatment by coordinating multidisciplinary resources and follow-up
• Manage and maintain individualized oncology care plans so patients receive cohesive, timely care
• Provide patient education and counseling on treatment plans, side-effect management, and community resources
• Triage and escalate oncologic emergencies and urgent symptoms in collaboration with clinical teams
• Oversee chemotherapy-related processes including coordination with infusion services and monitoring treatment side effects
• Document thoroughly and accurately in EPIC to ensure seamless communication across the care team
• Coordinate port and central line care logistics and liaise with infusion staff for safe administration
• Serve as the patient advocate — help reduce barriers to care, referrals, and timely treatment

Qualifications

• Active RN license (California) required — pending state licenses are NOT accepted
• ONCC or ONS certification REQUIRED
• 3 years oncology nursing experience preferred (2 years will be screened)
• BLS required or preferred per facility guidance (chemo certification preferred)
• Demonstrated experience with chemotherapy administration, IV therapy/infusions, and port/central line care
• Comfortable with EPIC charting and strong clinical documentation skills
• Willingness to commit to an initial 26-week temp-to-perm assignment

Knowledge & Skills

• Oncology nursing and patient navigation
• Chemotherapy administration (IV, continuous infusion, oral) and monitoring
• IV therapy/infusions and administration of blood & blood products
• Port and central line/implanted line care
• Management of oncologic emergencies (e.g., TLS, anaphylaxis, extravasation, sepsis, hemorrhage, spinal cord compression)
• Neutropenic precautions and symptom management (nausea, neuropathy, edema, altered mental status)
• Strong EPIC/charting proficiency and care plan management
• Excellent communication, coordination, and patient advocacy skills
