Roles & Responsibilities

• Chart patient encounters accurately and efficiently in EPIC
• Room patients, obtain vital signs and record history/medications/allergies
• Prepare exam rooms and set up/assist with procedures including MUA, colposcopy, LEEP and IUD insertion
• Perform specimen collection, venipuncture and label specimens appropriately
• Administer injections, immunizations and TB testing when required
• Support telephone triage, pharmacy calls and patient refill requests
• Assist with follow-up phone calls, suture removal and patient education
• Use point-of-care testing such as glucometer checks and document results

Qualifications

• WA MA-C preferred; MA-R acceptable and will be considered
• EPIC charting experience is REQUIRED
• Minimum 6 months experience in an adult outpatient setting (OBGYN experience a plus)
• BLS preferred
• Competence with venipuncture, specimen collection, injections and immunizations
• Comfort assisting with OBGYN-specific procedures such as colposcopy, LEEP and IUD insertion
• First-time temp/contract clinicians are accepted

Education

• WA MA-C preferred; MA-R licensure acceptable
• BLS preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• EPIC charting and documentation
• Rooming patients and obtaining vital signs
• Venipuncture and specimen collection (urine, throat, UA/clean catch)
• Injections, immunizations and administration of TB tests
• Setting up and assisting with procedures (MUA, colposcopy, LEEP, IUD insertion)
• Telephone triage, pharmacy refill coordination and follow-up calls
• Point-of-care testing (glucometer) and basic lab test handling
• Suture removal and basic wound care
