Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert inpatient neurology care for adult patients, managing 10-15 hospital-based patients per locum day
• Lead and actively participate in code stroke response activations to ensure rapid, coordinated care
• Perform unofficial radiologic exam interpretation and promptly communicate relevant findings to the care team
• Document and coordinate patient care using Epic Carepath to ensure clear handoffs and continuity
• Collaborate closely with onsite physicians, APPs, nursing, and ancillary services for efficient, high-quality inpatient management
• Support trauma cases as needed (approximately 10% trauma exposure) and adapt to hospital-based workflows

Qualifications

• Active or eligible Nurse Practitioner license in Ohio (ability to obtain state licensure required for credentialing)
• Demonstrated experience in neurology and inpatient care; stroke management experience is highly valued
• Comfort with radiologic exam interpretation in the inpatient setting (unofficial interpretation expected)
• Experience with Epic (Carepath) or other major EMR systems
• Strong clinical judgment, effective communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
• Current BLS; ACLS preferred or obtainable upon hire
• Willingness to complete credentialing (estimated ~60 days pending license/background)

Knowledge & Skills

• Inpatient neurology assessment and management for adult patients

• Familiarity with radiology reports and imaging basics
• Comfortable navigating Epic Carepath for documentation and order entry
• Hospital-based patient management and coordination with labs and imaging
• Ability to triage, prioritize, and manage a busy inpatient caseload
