Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely clinical laboratory testing with attention to detail
• Prepare specimens and maintain proper labeling and chain-of-custody procedures
• Operate, maintain, and perform quality control on laboratory instruments
• Document results and communicate critical values to clinical teams promptly
• Follow safety and infection control protocols to protect patients and staff
• Participate in orientation and training, sharing knowledge with new team members
• Contribute to a collaborative environment that improves patient care and lab efficiency

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program or equivalent
• Current MLT certification (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent) preferred or in progress
• State licensure if required by Missouri regulations
• Ability to complete orientation as part of the onboarding process (orientation is required)
• Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and teamwork mindset
• Willingness to follow infection control and lab safety standards; background checks/immunizations as required

Education

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field

Knowledge & Skills

• Phlebotomy and specimen handling best practices
• Familiarity with hematology, chemistry, microbiology, or immunology testing
• Instrument operation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting
• Understanding of quality control and documentation practices
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment and managing workload
