Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage the Cost Accounting system to drive accurate service line profitability analysis and ensure reliable financial reporting.
• Publish monthly service line and physician practice Profit & Loss statements and practice scorecards that inform leadership decisions.
• Oversee the use of Decision Support tools for strategic and financial planning, including review of feasibility studies prepared with STRATA.
• Develop financial feasibility models and templates in STRATA to calculate ROI, payback period, NPV, IRR, and other capital project metrics.
• Lead routine meetings with leadership to review service line profitability and help design performance improvement plans for areas with unfavorable variances.
• Prepare and compile data for audits, insurance renewals, FEMA/Single Audits, GME reporting, and support annual financial audit requirements.
• Train managers and directors on productivity and decision support software, manage ad hoc reporting requests, and mentor decision support staff.
• Provide oversight for software implementations as needed, including STRATA forecasting module, ERP components, and leasing software integrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in cost accounting, budgeting, and/or decision support, with healthcare experience.
• Hands-on experience with STRATA financial software or a similar decision support tool.
• Proven experience publishing P&Ls, financial reporting for service lines and physician practices, and preparing feasibility analyses.
• Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring staff and working with hospital leadership.
• Preferred: Master’s degree (MBA or MHA) and financial or healthcare certifications.
• Preferred: Experience in hospital contracting, reimbursement, bundled payments, and physician reimbursement practices.

• Master's Degree (MBA or MHA) preferred

• Cost accounting, budgeting, and decision support methodologies
• STRATA system configuration, forecasting, and feasibility analysis
• Service line profitability analysis and P&L development
• Financial modeling: ROI, NPV, IRR, payback period
• Financial reporting to external rating agencies (S&P, Fitch, DAC, EMMA)
• Productivity systems, ad hoc reporting, and audit support
• Experience with ERP and leasing software implementations
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and training skills
