Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
• Provide safe and compassionate mobility assistance and transfers
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to nursing staff promptly
• Support mealtime assistance and ensure dietary needs and preferences are followed
• Maintain accurate documentation of care, observations, and resident concerns
• Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe environment
• Engage residents in social interaction and recreational activities to promote well-being

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working with geriatric residents, including those with dementia
• Good communication skills and ability to work well within an interdisciplinary team
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
• Dependable, punctual, and able to adapt to varying per diem schedules

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completion of an accredited GNA program or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of safe resident handling and transfer techniques
• Familiarity with activities of daily living (ADLs) care routines
• Basic clinical skills such as taking vital signs and measuring intake/output
• Understanding of infection prevention and standard precautions
• Good documentation practices and attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate bedside manner

This per diem assignment is located near the Baltimore area.
