Location: Bowie, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (schedule varies), 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM Day shift

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents
Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes promptly
Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics
Document resident care and progress clearly and timely
Communicate effectively with the nursing team and resident families
Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
Observe and report behavioral or health changes to clinical staff

Qualifications

State GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtainable upon hire
Up-to-date immunizations and TB test as required by facility
Background check and drug screening clearance
Demonstrated experience or strong interest in elder care and long-term care settings
Reliable, punctual, and able to pass facility onboarding requirements

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of a state-approved GNA or nurse aide training program

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of ADLs and basic geriatric care practices
Comfortable taking vitals and documenting care
Understanding of infection control and resident safety protocols
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with older adults
Basic computer or EMR familiarity for charting is a plus
