Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 4x10 Nights (17:00 - 03:00), weekends required, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 70

Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Conduct psychosocial assessments to uncover patient needs
Craft person-centered discharge plans that truly make a difference
Provide crisis intervention and emotional support in high-stakes ER moments
Coordinate care with RN case managers and teams for seamless transitions
Navigate resources and screen for safety to empower patients and families
Complete reports and collaborate on ethical, safe discharges

Qualifications

Active or pending Alaska LMSW or LCSW license
Minimum 1 year of experience, preferably 2 years in acute care
First-time travelers warmly welcomed
Epic charting proficiency a big plus

Education

Master's degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited school

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in ER and acute care environments
Strong grasp of community programs like Medicaid, Medicare, and housing support
Skilled in biopsychosocial assessments and care coordination
Knowledge of major diseases including cancer, stroke, and psychiatric disorders
Crisis intervention and short-term therapy techniques
Familiarity with NASW ethics and cultural competency
