Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform first scrub duties for open heart surgeries including CABG, valve repairs, and aneurysm repairs
• Assist in thoracic and vascular procedures, including thoracotomies, VATS, and robotic cases
• Prepare and maintain a sterile field, ensuring all instruments and supplies are ready for surgery
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff for optimal patient outcomes
• Cross-train to general OR or float as a 1:1 sitter when CV volumes are low to supplement hours

Qualifications

• 2 years of recent CVOR experience required
• Must hold CST or NCCT certification
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Valid ND UAP registration or willingness to obtain
• Must be able to first scrub for open heart cases and commit to a 15-minute call response time
• Willingness to cross-train to general OR and float to the floor as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in open heart surgical procedures including CABG, valves, and aneurysm repair
• Proficiency with robotic surgeries and Stryker tower equipment
• Strong aseptic technique and knowledge of sterile field maintenance
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to adapt to varying case volumes and work collaboratively under pressure
