Location: Orono, ME

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (days vary), 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, evening shift

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, person-centered care to residents and patients
Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
Accurately document care, observations, and vital information in the patient record
Communicate clearly and professionally with nurses, families, and the care team
Observe, report, and escalate changes in patient condition promptly
Support a safe, clean, and respectful environment for residents

Qualifications

Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential in good standing
Current state registry or documentation of eligibility to work as a CNA
Previous experience as a CNA or in direct patient care is preferred
Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented attitude
Ability to pass facility background checks and required health screenings
CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training and certification required

Knowledge & Skills

Hands-on experience with ADLs and safe patient handling
Basic vital signs monitoring and documentation
Infection prevention and control practices
Effective verbal and written communication with care teams
Time management, organization, and attention to detail
Empathy, patience, and the ability to build rapport with residents
