Certified Nursing Assistant

Location: Gettysburg, PA

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (days vary as scheduled), 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Evening)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $22 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist patients with daily living activities (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and respect
Take and document vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
Support safe patient transfers and ambulation, following proper body mechanics
Maintain a clean, safe environment by following infection control and facility protocols
Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to residents
Accurately document care in the patient record and communicate effectively with the care team
Observe and report changes in patient condition promptly to the nurse or supervisor

Qualifications

Valid CNA certification as required by Pennsylvania
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or must obtain upon hire
Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings (e.g., TB, immunizations)
Comfortable with standing, lifting, and assisting patients as part of routine care
Strong communication skills and a patient-focused attitude

Education

High school diploma or GED
Completion of a state-approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

Hands-on experience with activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic patient care
Proficient in taking and recording vital signs accurately
Knowledge of infection prevention and safety protocols
Basic charting and documentation skills (electronic or paper-based)
Ability to follow care plans and work collaboratively with nursing staff
Compassionate bedside manner and strong observational skills
