Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting) with dignity and respect
• Monitor and record vital signs and resident observations, reporting changes promptly to nursing staff
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility support, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Support infection control procedures and maintain a clean, safe environment for residents
• Document care accurately and communicate clearly with the care team and families
• Collaborate with nursing staff to implement individualized care plans and improve resident outcomes

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification valid in New Mexico
• Comfortable working 12-hour overnight shifts as part of a per-diem schedule
• High school diploma or equivalent (see Education)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Strong teamwork, communication skills, and a compassionate approach to resident care
• Previous experience in long-term care or rehabilitation settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved CNA program and active CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic clinical observations
• Safe resident transfer and mobility assistance techniques
• Accurate documentation and charting practices
• Infection control and safety protocols
• Effective communication with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Adaptability and calm problem-solving during busy shifts
